Development Description
Ovation Group Pty Ltd (OVATION) are the service provider responsible for the delivery of the following
services into your apartment at 222 Buckley Street Essendon.
• Electricity;
• Gas; and
• Hot Water.
OVATION is NOT responsible for Cold Water - you will need to contact your local water authority for this service.
On settlement Ovation will make sure all your services listed above will be connected. You have no firsttime connection charges as they were all paid during the property settlement process. However, you do
need to enter into a service supply agreement:
1. Electricity services can only be turned on during business hours;
2. Please allow up to 24 hours prior to moving in for electricity to be turn-on; and
3. If you have recently settled the purchase of the property, OVATION does turn-on electricity to allow
your property to be inspected; but
4. Approximately 5 days after settlement electricity is turned off if an agreement has not been signed for
service supply.
To connect your Electricity, Gas and Hot Water please complete the application form at the back of this
information pack.
The process to enable the services connection is quite quick but we encourage you to complete the
application form well in advance. Please make sure you specify your move-in date. You will not be charged
for any Electricity, Gas or Hot Water usage which may occur prior to your moving into your property.
We also have some great news. Whilst OVATION does supply your property with Gas for your domestic
cooktop, you will not be charged for gas usage within your apartment. As part of our service OVATION
provide gas to the cooktops free of charge.

- The development is powered by an Embedded Network. Embedded Networks allow the residents of a building to take control of the services coming into their complex and run it locally. Embedded Networks provide greater control of the sites infrastructure and, most importantly, allow you to purchase services at a cheaper rate than would otherwise be possible.
- OVATION has been elected by the Owners Corporation to be the operator of the Embedded Network.

- Greater control of site infrastructure for future expansions; whether that be on site solar panels, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, etc;
Improved ability to service residents electrical upgrade needs in the future; and - The electricity is purchased in bulk and on-sold to the tenants at a cheaper rate than would otherwise
be possible.
Not all electricity retailers offer pricing in an embedded network however you most certainly have the right to choose your electricity retailer. Some electricity retailers may request you installed a new
electricity meter, which can cost upwards of $600. OVATION is the current operator of the site and offers you the most streamline connection process. The current meter in place talks to our systems
remotely providing you with accurate on time billing each month.
An Electrical Embedded Network is when you – the building owner, operator or occupier – purchase electricity at a cheaper rate for the whole building and sell this electricity to all residence at a reduced
rate. Residence get the advantage of cheaper electricity using OVATION aggregated buying power.
The OVATION bulk hot water embedded network system is a centralised rooftop hot water system designed to supply the total requirements of hot water to all residents. This centralised rooftop designed
will not only save precious space on site but will also provide the residents with discounted hot water rates. It gets better – all homeowners get free gas usage for gas cooktops. Commercial premises do
need to get a separate gas connection to supply commercial cooktops or other appliances.
